Mild horror story with a boring cause. Posting it because I would not have thought to check.
We have a tablet in the kitchen that everyone uses, kids included. It has been playing up, so I did the thing where you reset it and let it restore from the backup.
It restored everything. Including the app. Icon on the home screen, notifications on, signed in.
Nobody saw it. I caught it that evening because the tablet made a noise I recognised from my phone, which is a horrible way to be alerted to anything. Deleted it, obviously, but I have spent the week wondering what else is quietly synced between my phone and a device that lives in a room where four people sit.
The cause, I think, is that both devices are signed in with the same account, so anything I install goes on the list of things that device might restore. Which I sort of knew and never once thought about in this context.
What else should I be checking? I would like to do this properly once rather than keep finding new versions of it.
