Not my finest hour. Had two conversations going, both at a similar stage, and sent a fairly specific message about someone’s weekend plans to the wrong one of them.

Realised about four seconds after it left. Wrong name, wrong plans, wrong everything.

Do you explain or do you let it go? And how does anybody keep track once there is more than a couple of chats open?

Own it immediately and lightly. Sorry, that was meant for another conversation, entirely my fault, and then carry straight on with something actually addressed to her. Nine times out of ten it is a shrug. The version that goes badly is the one where you say nothing and she works it out later.
