Woke up to a first message that was, and I counted, six paragraphs. Detailed. Well written, actually. He had clearly read my whole profile, including the bit at the bottom that nobody reads, and had something to say about most of it.
And I have been sitting on it for two days completely unable to answer.
I have been trying to work out why, because objectively this is the opposite of the problem everyone here complains about. What I have landed on is that it felt like a debt. Anything short I write back is going to look dismissive next to what he sent. So the only acceptable answer is another essay, and I do not have one in me on a Tuesday.
There is also something about the pace. We are one message in and it is already at a depth I would normally get to in week three.
Am I being ungrateful? He did the thing everyone says to do, which is read the profile and engage with it. I just cannot get my thumbs to work.
