reverse searched my own profile photo and found myself in about a minute

Was reading the privacy threads here and got curious, so I ran my own profile photos through a reverse image search to see what would come back. Expected nothing. Got everything.

The main photo I use, which I thought was innocuous, is the same one I used on a hobby forum profile about three years ago. That forum profile has a username. That username is one I have used elsewhere. Three clicks later I am looking at a page with my full name and the town I live in.

Total time, about a minute. I was not even trying hard. I was on my sofa.

Nobody has done this to me as far as I know. That is not really the comfort I want it to be, because the whole point is that I would not know.

So: replacing all the photos this weekend with ones that have never been anywhere else. Anything else I should be checking while I am in here? I would rather do the whole sweep once than discover another one of these in six months.

What the playbook says about this

Close calls with one shape. Something on a screen said more than the member did, and none of it needed a hacker. The playbook has a page for most of these and one that covers the lot in the order the settings actually matter.
