spare_key_sy Opened it #1
Bit sheepish about this one. Matched Sunday, good conversation, and in about the third message she asked if we could carry on somewhere else because she barely opens the app. Which is a completely normal thing people say. I said sure and gave her my number without thinking about it for even a second.
Nothing terrible has happened. I want to be clear about that before anyone worries. But within a day I felt the difference and I did not like it. On the app I had a block button and a report link and a bit of distance. Now there is a stranger with my actual number, and my actual number is attached to a lot of things.
Then when I slowed the pace down a bit, the messages got a little pointed about it. Nothing threatening, just a mood. And that is when I realised I had given away the easy exit before I knew whether I would want one.
So what is everyone’s rule? Is there a version of moving off the app that does not involve handing over the thing your bank also uses to identify you? I would rather learn the sensible version from you lot than invent one badly.
