quarterpast_q Opened it #1

This happened Thursday and I have thought about very little since.

Scrolling in the evening, half asleep, and there is a man from two desks over. Not a lookalike. Him. Same photo he uses on the internal directory, cropped differently. Bio talks about the same things he talks about at lunch.

I did not like or pass, I just closed the app like it had bitten me. Friday morning he said good morning exactly as normal. So either he has not seen me, or he has and he is doing what I am doing.

The office is not small but it is not big either. We are on the same floor. And I am now aware that every single time I open the app there is a possibility I will see him again, and every time I see him at the coffee machine I will be thinking about a bio I have read.

What is the etiquette. Do you block? Does blocking do anything if he has already screenshotted or just remembered? Is saying something ever the right move, or is silence genuinely the whole protocol here?

What the playbook says about this

Close calls with one shape. Something on a screen said more than the member did, and none of it needed a hacker. The playbook has a page for most of these and one that covers the lot in the order the settings actually matter.
