So this happened Tuesday. Phone face up on the conference table, which I know, I know. Halfway through the quarterly review it lights up with the app’s logo and “new message from DomNextDoor”. The guy beside me definitely saw it. He didn’t say anything. He saw it.

I got lucky that he’s either polite or oblivious, and I’d rather not bet on that twice. Same night I turned off previews for the app, set notifications to silent, and put the whole thing behind a fingerprint lock. Took maybe ten minutes total and I feel a bit dumb for not doing it on day one.

Two questions for the room. Anyone else had a close call like this? And is there a way to keep some notifications visible without the sender name showing? I still want to know when something arrives. I just don’t need it announced to the whole third floor.

Close calls with one shape. Something on a screen said more than the member did, and none of it needed a hacker. The playbook has a page for most of these and one that covers the lot in the order the settings actually matter.
