Talk me down or talk me into it.
I have been thinking about getting a second number that I only use for people I meet on apps. Cheap enough to do. The idea being that the number I actually use, the one attached to my bank and my work and everyone I know, never goes to a stranger.
Half of me thinks this is basic sense and I should have done it two years ago. The other half thinks I am building a whole parallel identity to talk to people about coffee, and there is something a bit joyless about that.
Also there is a practical question I have not thought through. Two numbers means two devices or one device juggling two things, and I already lose track of which app I said what on.
Do people here actually do this? And if you do, is it a proper separation or does it collapse into a hassle you abandon after a month?
