Twenty two, new, and deliberately taking a year over this
- Looking for
- conversation with people much further along, and nothing else for now
- Experience
- None. Reading, one long conversation, no meetings.
- Around
- the inner west, Sydney
I am twenty two and I have decided to spend a year on the talking part before I do anything at all. That is not fear. It is that everybody I have read who regrets something regrets doing it fast, with somebody they did not know, because the conversation was going well and stopping felt rude.
The inner west, no experience, on this app since April. What I have noticed already is that being young and new on here is a signal that attracts a specific kind of message, and I have got quite good at spotting it. The tell is enthusiasm about my inexperience rather than about me.
What I want is conversation with people considerably further along than I am. How you knew. What you got wrong early. What you would tell somebody at the beginning if you could be bothered. I am aware that is asking for time and I am not entitled to it.
I am not in any distress and I am not looking for anybody to look after me. I have a good job, a decent flat share and friends who know I am on here.
Not looking to meet anyone in the next few months. Not looking for anybody who thinks a year is a challenge to be shortened. And not looking for a person who describes themselves as protective in a first message, which has happened four times now and has meant something different every time.
