All my questions are about how these things end, and nobody wants those
- Looking for
- somebody willing to talk about the unflattering parts
- Experience
- None. Four months of conversations that stalled at the same point.
- Around
- the inner city, Sydney
Every conversation I have had on here has gone the same way. It is warm and open until I start asking about endings, and then it cools within a message or two. How did the last one finish. What did you get wrong. What does somebody do when they have agreed to something and want out of it. Those are my actual questions and they appear to be the wrong ones.
I understand why. Nobody comes to an app to discuss their failures with a stranger who has done nothing yet. But I cannot evaluate something on the accounts of people who are only describing the good half, and I have read a great deal of the good half.
Twenty nine, the inner city, no experience at all. I am not frightened and I am not fascinated. I am doing the same thing I would do before taking a job or signing a lease, which is trying to find out what it looks like when it does not work. My own reading is that people are careful at the start, get comfortable, and stop checking, and I would like somebody to tell me whether that is right or whether it is just what I would do.
What I want is one or two honest conversations with people who have been through an ending and are willing to describe it. That is genuinely the whole ask, and I have nothing to offer in return except attention and discretion.
Not looking to meet anybody. Not looking to be reassured. And not looking for a person who tells me the bad outcomes only happen to people who did it wrong, which is what I was told twice and did not believe either time.
