Fifty four, and the difficult part has been the software
- Looking for
- patience with the mechanics, and one conversation about the rest
- Experience
- None. Three months on here and a lot of wrong buttons.
- Around
- the inner west, Sydney
I assumed the hard part would be admitting what I wanted. It has not been. The hard part has been that I do not understand this software and nobody my age will admit that they do not either. It took me five weeks to work out that a match was not a message. I sent something to a person twice because I could not tell whether the first one had gone. I have accidentally hidden my own profile for a fortnight.
Fifty four, the inner west, divorced three years, and I know what I want in the way you know a word you cannot spell. I have never done any of it. I am not coy about that and I am not going to pretend to an experience I do not have, since it would collapse in about ten minutes.
What I am asking for is patience and a fair amount of explanation, about the practical things as much as anything else. Somebody willing to go slowly, who says what they are doing and why, and who is not disappointed that I arrive with nothing but intent.
I am not fragile. I have raised a family, buried a parent and rebuilt a career after forty.
Not looking for anybody who finds my age remarkable and mentions it. Not looking to be hurried. And not looking for a person who cannot tolerate a beginner's questions, which is fair enough, but say so early.
