The sign up made me choose a word and I picked one at random
- Looking for
- somebody who will help me work it out without deciding it for me
- Experience
- None. Two months on the app and a lot of open tabs.
- Around
- Manhattan, New York
The sign up asked me which one I was and would not let me continue until I chose. I sat there for a genuinely long time and then picked one because the screen would not go away. It has been on my profile ever since and it is probably wrong, and I have no idea how you would find out other than by doing something about it.
Thirty, Manhattan, no experience of any kind. I have read a great deal, which I now understand is the least useful preparation available, because everything I have read describes how something feels and I have no way to check my own answer against it.
What I would like is to talk to somebody who has been doing this a long time and is unbothered by a person who does not know the answer yet. I do not want to be assigned a role by whoever writes to me first. I would like to arrive at one, slowly, and I accept that might take a year.
I can be sociable and I am reasonably good at asking questions. I am also aware that a profile like mine attracts a particular kind of attention.
Not looking for anyone who opens with a list of what they will do to me. Not looking for somebody who says I clearly am one thing based on nothing. Not looking to meet anywhere private for a first conversation, now or in two months.
