I am not going to dress this up, because I do not have the words for it yet
- Looking for
- a plain conversation with somebody who has been doing this for years
- Experience
- None. Six weeks, three conversations, no conclusions.
- Around
- the city centre, Glasgow
Everybody on this board says what they want in a sentence and I cannot do it. Not because I am coy. Because I do not know, and I am not going to write a confident paragraph to fit in with the tone of a board when the honest version is that I have been thinking about this for eleven years and have never once said it out loud.
Forty, the city centre, no experience of anything here. Divorced three years ago for reasons that had nothing to do with any of it.
What I would like is a conversation that can put up with uncertainty for a while. Somebody experienced who can tell me what an ordinary week involves, whether it takes over your life, and how people fit it round work.
I am not fragile and I do not need managing. I have run a team through two very bad years and buried a parent. I am simply new, and the newness is about the words rather than about me.
Not looking for anybody in a hurry. Not looking to be told I will know when I know. Not looking to send photographs before a proper conversation, which has been asked of me six times and is why my profile has no face on it.
