This board refills every September and nobody mentions it

- Fifteen years, four arrangements, three of them ended at an airport.

- Noord, Amsterdam
The queue here has an annual shape and it took me four years to notice. Around September a wave of new profiles arrives all at once. Through the winter they settle. By June a third of them have gone quiet and by August they are gone entirely, and then it happens again. It is not a mystery. It is contracts, courses and leases, and the app has no way to show any of it.
Three of my four arrangements ended because the other person left the country, and none of them left me. One went home when a visa ran out. One took a job elsewhere. One decided the rent had stopped making sense. Every ending was decent and none was about anything either of us had done.
Fifty one, Noord, dominant, fifteen years in.
So I ask now, early, plainly, and I do not treat the answer as a deal breaker. If you know you are going, say so and we will decide together whether a year is worth having, which it very often is. What does not work is discovering it in month eight after everything was built as though it were permanent.
Not looking for certainty, only honesty. Not looking to be a reason anybody stays. Not looking for a person who will not answer a practical question because it is unromantic.
