People here say what they want in one line and I cannot do it
- Looking for
- a slower conversation than this city seems to run on
- Experience
- None. Six weeks, four conversations, nothing arranged.
- Around
- the south, Amsterdam
Everybody on this board states what they want in a sentence and expects the same back. I admire it and I cannot produce it. When somebody asks me directly what I am looking for I write four paragraphs of qualification, delete them, and send something so hedged that it means nothing at all.
That is not shyness about the subject. It is that I genuinely do not know yet, and the format here has no room for not knowing. A one line answer requires you to have decided, and I have not decided, and pretending otherwise seems like exactly the wrong way to start.
Thirty six, the south, no experience of anything in this world. Divorced two years ago for reasons entirely unrelated to any of it.
What I want is a conversation that can tolerate uncertainty for a while. Somebody experienced who can describe what an ordinary week involves, whether it takes over your life, how people fit it around a job. The intense version is all I have read and I suspect it is the least representative. I am not fragile and I do not need managing, having run a department through two reorganisations.
Not looking for anybody in a hurry. Not looking to be told I will know when I know. Not looking to send photographs before a proper conversation.
