Not looking for advice exactly, more want to know if this is just the world now.

Been talking to someone for a few weeks. Reasonably open conversations, nothing wild, but the sort of thing you say to a person you are getting to know rather than to a room. Yesterday I found out, secondhand, that a fair chunk of it has been going into a group chat as screenshots. Not maliciously as far as I can tell. More as entertainment.

The messages themselves are not embarrassing. That is not really the point. The point is that I wrote them to one person and they have been read by six, and I cannot un-know that now, and I am not going to be able to write anything the same way again for a while.

I know there is no technical fix. I know screenshots exist. I suppose I am asking how the rest of you hold this. Do you write every message as though it might be read out? Because that sounds exhausting and also like the end of anything worth saying.

What the playbook says about this

Everything on this board is about the app itself rather than the people in it: what a badge is actually checking, what the queue does to your morning, and why the door back in is never locked. A good share of it turns out to be about which app you picked.

  • What a verified badge cannot check
  • The platform with no queue to check at all
  • When the pool went quiet, not your profile
