switchflipped Opened it #1
Genuine question, not a rant, though it’s a little bit a rant. Eleven matches this month. I sent openers to four of them, actual openers, referencing profile things, not hey. Zero replies. The other seven never sent anything either. So that’s eleven mutual somethings and zero conversations.
If you matched with me, you saw my profile and pressed the button. What was the plan? I keep imagining someone swiping in a pharmacy queue, matching, feeling one pixel of serotonin, and never thinking about it again. Which, fine, I’ve probably done it too. But from the inside it feels like knocking on doors that open onto brick walls.
People who match and go silent, what’s happening over there? And people with decent reply rates, is it the profile, the opener, the timing? Or is everyone playing a different game than I think, and the game is just the matching itself.
