Genuine census question because I suspect everyone lies about this.
I am currently talking to five people. Not in a smug way, it just happened, they all arrived in about a fortnight. And I have discovered that I am not good at five. Yesterday I asked someone how her sister’s move went and it was a different person’s sister. She was nice about it. I wanted to walk into the sea.
I have also noticed I write worse when there are five. Shorter, blander, more like clearing a queue than talking to anyone.
So what is everybody’s actual number, and is there a point where it stops being reasonable and starts being something you should mention? Nobody has met anybody yet in my case, so I do not think I am doing anything wrong, but I would rather hear how other people think about it than decide on my own at eleven at night.
