The tag list is in English and so is nothing I mean by it

Posted as none_of_the_tags, 12 September 2026

Looking for
somebody patient about the gap between how I write and how I talk
Experience
Five years, one arrangement of two years, ended when she left the country.
Around
the west end, Toronto

The app hands me a list of tags and not one of them says what I actually mean. The words I have for this are in my first language, the list is in English, and for two years I have been describing myself with the nearest wrong option and then spending three messages correcting it.

Thirty eight, submissive, west end, here nine years. I read English better than I speak it and I write it better than either, which is why a post suits me and a first phone call does not.

Here is what the tags cannot carry. I want to be given work and then inspected. Not punished, not praised especially. Inspected. Somebody who looks at what I have done, says what is wrong with it, and expects the correction. There is a tag on my profile that says service and it brings me people who want a uniform and a curtsey, which is a completely different thing and takes four messages to unpick every time.

What I would like is somebody with patience for the gap between the person writing this and the person who turns up. My accent thickens when I am nervous and I am nervous for the first hour with anybody. It passes and then I am fine.

Not looking for anyone who wants to correct my English, or who tells me my English is very good, which is meant kindly and lands strangely every single time.
