Everyone I match with is gone by April, and I have stopped pretending otherwise
- Looking for
- someone whose lease runs longer than the conversation
- Experience
- Four years, two dynamics, both of them ended at the end of a season.
- Around
- South Beach, Miami
The last three people I matched with had a leaving date sitting in the bio and I read straight past it every time. One went back north in March. One finished a contract and flew out in April. The third simply stopped opening the app somewhere around the second week of May and I never found out which of those two things it was. I am not bitter about any of it. I am just finished pretending I did not see it written there in the first line.
Twenty nine, submissive, front desk work, and I have been here long enough to know what the calendar does to this city. Four years of this, two real dynamics, and both of them ended on a plane rather than on a bad note.
So the ask is boring and I am not going to dress it up. I want somebody who lives here in the ordinary sense: pays rent here, has family here, complains about the summer here. Structure over a long stretch, not an intense fortnight. Someone who will still be answering in November.
What I do not want is anybody who describes this city as a break from their real life. I do not want to be told at week six that the contract is up. And if your profile already says how long you are staying, I believe you, and I am going to leave you alone, which is the politest thing either of us can do.
