The app says four miles. Four miles here is an hour and two buses
- Looking for
- somebody who will meet me somewhere I can actually reach
- Experience
- Two years, one short dynamic, a lot of missed meetings.
- Around
- Wynwood, Miami
Under every profile there is a little number telling you how far away somebody is, and for people with a car it is roughly true. I do not have a car. So a match four miles away is an hour of my evening each way and a walk at the end of it, and a match nine miles away is not a real person as far as I am concerned. That number is the single most misleading thing on the whole app and nobody who drives has ever noticed it.
Twenty six, submissive, kitchen porter and part time student, Wynwood. Two years in, one dynamic that lasted a few months and ended when he moved out to the west and neither of us could make the journey work twice a week.
What I want is somebody near, and I know how limiting that sounds. Structure, tasks, being answerable to somebody. I am not looking for anything expensive to attend, and I am not looking for anybody to solve my transport for me either.
The thing I get asked and have grown tired of is why I do not simply drive. I do not have a car because I do not have a car. If your first message contains a suggestion about my finances we are going to have a short conversation. If you live within a few streets and you are patient about timing, this could be very easy.
