I am the slowest person on this app and I have made peace with it. Somebody wrote to me in March, we exchanged letters of a sort for two months, met in May, and have seen each other four times since. By the standards of this city that is glacial. By mine it is exactly right, and I have three long friendships with former partners as evidence that the method works.
Sixty, dominant, retired from engineering, Coral Gables, twenty five years in this. Three arrangements, the longest eleven years, all of them ended without anybody behaving badly.
What I offer is structure that does not need to be dramatic to be real. Standing expectations, a regular day, correction in words rather than anything else, and a great deal of attention paid to what is actually going on with you. I am unshockable and I am not easily impressed, which people tell me is a restful combination.
I am not looking for intensity and I do not respond to urgency. If your message says you want to meet this week, I will assume you have not read this far. And I am not looking for anybody who wants a father figure, which is a request I get often enough at my age to mention. I am a partner in something, not a substitute for anything.
