Two years of good conversations and not one of them proposed a date
- Looking for
- one person willing to name a day and a time
- Experience
- Two years of talking. Nothing at all in a room.
- Around
- South Beach, Miami
I have had genuinely good conversations on this thing. Long ones, careful ones, people who asked proper questions and remembered the answers. Some of them ran for months. Not a single one of them ever contained a sentence with a day of the week and an hour in it. That is the whole of my experience of this so far: two years of excellent correspondence with people who were apparently never going anywhere.
Thirty six, submissive, I do payroll for a small company, and I have started to suspect that a portion of this app is people who only want the typing. Which is fine. It is a real thing to want. It is just not what I am here for and nobody says so up front.
What I want is to be in a room with somebody. To be given something to do and to be watched doing it. To be corrected out loud rather than in a paragraph. I am not asking for that in week one, I am asking for it to be on the table at all.
So the test I am applying now, and I would rather announce it than run it quietly: if we are still only writing after a month, I am going to ask directly, and if the answer is vague I will wish you well. Not out of impatience. I have been extremely patient. That is the problem.
