I do not know the vocabulary and I have stopped pretending I do
- Looking for
- somebody who will explain a term without making a thing of it
- Experience
- None. A few conversations I bluffed my way through badly.
- Around
- Wynwood, Miami
For about a month I nodded along. Somebody would use a word, I would agree enthusiastically, and then I would look it up afterwards and occasionally be alarmed by what I had just agreed with. That is a stupid way to approach anything and it is also the most common thing on this app, because the tags make everybody sound fluent and nobody wants to be the person asking what something means.
Thirty four, no experience, I work in air conditioning repair, Wynwood, and I have been reading about this for about eight months.
So I am announcing it. I do not know the words. I will ask, probably often, and I would rather ask you than an internet search that shows me something extreme and unhelpful. In exchange I am attentive, I am not squeamish, and I do not embarrass easily once something is explained.
What I am not after is a syllabus, and I am not after somebody who enjoys the teaching more than the person. I have met one of those already and the enthusiasm was entirely about my ignorance. And I am not going to agree to anything I have not understood again, which sounds obvious written down and took me a month to learn.
