I came off everything in the spring of the year my father got ill and I did not open any of it again until March. Four years. In that time the whole thing has grown tags, tiers, verification, video, and a sorting mechanism I do not understand. My old habits are useless. I used to write a paragraph to somebody I liked the look of and that is apparently now unusual behaviour.
Fifty, switch, I do estimating for a roofing company, north of the city, twenty years in this with two arrangements that ran five and seven years respectively.
So the experience is real and the fluency is gone, which is a strange way to arrive anywhere. I am relearning what a match means, which is apparently nothing, and how long people expect to write before meeting, which appears to be either two days or forever with nothing in between.
What I want has not changed at all. A long arrangement with somebody local, both directions, built slowly, meeting regularly, with a great deal of talking. What I do not want is to be told that things are different now as though that settles an argument. Some of it is better and some of it is worse and I am perfectly capable of telling which is which.
