Everything I do here ends at a fixed hour, and that is final
- Looking for
- somebody who plans around an early finish without making it a problem
- Experience
- Eight years, three dynamics, two of them ended over exactly this.
- Around
- the commuter belt, London
I live outside and I work in, so every evening I have ends at a specific hour that was decided by a timetable rather than by me. If I am not moving by then I am not getting home, and the alternatives are a taxi I cannot justify or a conversation with somebody in my house about where I was. Two of my three arrangements ended over that hour, not dramatically, just through months of low grade friction about me looking at the time.
Forty two, the commuter belt, submissive, eight years in.
What I need is somebody who builds it into the plan instead of resenting it at the end of the evening. That means starting earlier rather than finishing later. It means a Saturday afternoon being worth more to me than a Friday night. It means accepting that I will stand up while you are still talking, every single time, and that it means nothing about how the evening went.
What I want is a real ongoing dynamic. Standing expectations, contact through the week, tasks I do at home where the timetable is irrelevant.
Not looking for anybody who considers a daytime meeting second best. Not looking for a person who will suggest I stay over in month two and be wounded when the answer is no. And not looking to be the one apologising for a railway.
