Sixty seven, dominant, and I am extremely slow with a phone

Posted as i_type_slowly, 5 September 2026

Looking for
somebody who would rather talk than exchange messages all week
Experience
Thirty five years, three long arrangements, the last of them twelve years.
Around
the south east, London

I am not going to be good at this part and I would rather admit it at the top. I type slowly, I do not enjoy it, and the sort of quick back and forth that everybody here seems to run on leaves me cold. Twice I have lost somebody I liked because the messaging petered out and neither of us thought to suggest anything else. That is not going to happen a third time.

Sixty seven, the south east, dominant, thirty five years in this, three long arrangements with the last running twelve years and ending when she died two years ago.

So I will suggest a call early, or a meeting sooner than most people find comfortable, somewhere public in the daytime. In a room I am entirely myself. In a chat window I am a man staring at a keyboard.

What I run has not changed much in decades. Clear expectations, formal in a way that some people love and others find airless, a standing weekly arrangement, and a lot of conversation.

Not looking for anybody who needs constant contact through the day. Not looking to be modernised. And not looking for somebody who wants a father figure, which is a specific thing that gets offered to men my age on here and which I have never had any interest in.
