My grown daughter put this on my phone. I have not told her why
- Looking for
- somebody unhurried, nearby, and comfortable with a beginner of sixty two
- Experience
- None in practice. A lifetime of knowing and never once acting.
- Around
- the west, London
She installed it, wrote a cheerful paragraph about my garden and my dog, and told me it was time. She thinks I am looking for a companion, which in a manner of speaking I am. I have since rewritten the paragraph entirely and I have never worked out how to explain the rest of it to her, so I have not.
Sixty two, the west, widowed five years ago, and I have known what I wanted since I was in my twenties without ever doing a single thing about it.
The app itself is not the problem. I have worked out how it functions and I quite enjoy the reading. The difficulty is that everything on it assumes you are somewhere on a road already, and I am standing at the beginning of one at an age where people expect you to have arrived.
What I would like is somebody experienced and patient, reasonably local, who is willing to talk for a good while and then meet somewhere ordinary in the daytime. What I want underneath that is to be given a structure and held to it. Rules about my days. Somebody who checks and who says when it was not good enough.
Not looking for anything at a distance. Not looking to be treated as delicate. And not looking for anyone who finds the timing of all this amusing, because I do not.
