The word on my profile is accurate and people keep telling me it is not
- Looking for
- somebody who wants both directions rather than tolerating one of them
- Experience
- Nine years, three arrangements, only one genuinely reciprocal.
- Around
- the west end, Glasgow
The app gives you one word and I chose the accurate one, and about once a fortnight somebody writes to explain to me that I am not really that. Usually within four messages. Usually on the basis of a photograph.
I have stopped arguing. What I do instead is ask what they think I am and why, which produces some genuinely interesting answers and also ends most of those conversations by itself.
Thirty three, the west end, switch, nine years in. Three arrangements and only one of them went both ways in practice, because the other two people were flexible in the way people are flexible about a thing they are enduring.
What I want is somebody who actively wants both directions, has done both, and can say which they prefer this month without it turning into a conversation about who anybody really is. I am specific about how the change happens: agreed beforehand, with a start and a finish, never mid evening and never because one of us is in a mood.
Not looking for somebody who will try it once for my sake. Not looking to explain the concept again. Not looking for a person who uses the flexibility as a way of never committing to either.
