Nine years on these apps and I have never once met anybody from one
- Looking for
- the first meeting, at last, with somebody patient about that sentence
- Experience
- Nine years online, one arrangement, all of it in writing.
- Around
- the city centre, Glasgow
Nine years, four apps, hundreds of conversations, one arrangement that ran eleven months, and I have never sat in a room with any of them. All of it has been writing. I am extremely good at the writing and it has become the thing itself rather than the way to the thing.
I am saying it plainly because it is the single most relevant fact about me and because I would rather you knew before we spent a spring finding out. It is not fear of people. I am fine with people. It is that a chat window is a place where I can be exactly who I want to be, at my own speed, with the difficult parts edited, and a room is not.
Thirty five, the city centre, switch, nine years of this.
So the thing I am actually asking for is a first meeting, in daylight, somewhere public, early, with somebody who will hold me to it rather than let me talk them out of it in week three. That is a lot to ask of a stranger and I know it.
Not looking for another correspondence. Not looking for anybody who finds this charming, because it is not, it is nine years. Not looking to be managed.
