I write in short sentences and half the board reads that as anger

Posted as plainly_think_angry, 25 August 2026

Looking for
somebody who takes a plain sentence at face value
Experience
Six years, two arrangements, both of them long.
Around
the east end, Glasgow

I write the way I talk, which is in short sentences with no decoration. On this board that mostly works, because everybody here does the same. On an app it gets read as coldness or anger about half the time, and I have had two people ask me outright whether they had offended me when they had not.

I am autistic, which is the explanation rather than the excuse. I do not do subtext well in either direction. If I say I am not interested in something I mean that and nothing else, and if I say a thing is fine it is fine. What I need in return is people who will say what they mean rather than hinting and then being hurt that I missed it.

Thirty six, the east end, switch, six years in, two arrangements and both of them lasted years, which I put down entirely to the other person being direct.

What I want is one ongoing arrangement, both directions in time, with rules written down because written rules are the easiest thing in the world for me and I keep them exactly.

Not looking for anybody who tests people. Not looking for a person who expects me to notice a mood. Not looking to be told to relax.

Which direction is on the table this month is not in the post, and asking flat out reads badly. That takes a conversation, and a conversation needs a room you can walk out of.
