This app has shown me people I would never have met otherwise
- Looking for
- somebody with nothing at all in common with my last three
- Experience
- Six years, three dynamics, all of them with the same kind of person.
- Around
- the South Bay, Los Angeles
Everybody on this board complains about this place and most of the complaints are fair, so let me put the other side. Before any of this was on a phone I met people through a very small number of channels, and the result was that all three of my arrangements were with more or less the same person: same age, same work, same way of talking. Then I started reading a queue of strangers who had nothing to do with my life, and I found out how narrow I had been.
Thirty five, the South Bay, switch, six years in, three arrangements with the same kind of person and one much more interesting year since.
So I am here deliberately for people unlike me. Different work, different age, different city originally. I have discovered that the thing I actually respond to has nothing to do with the profile I would have written for myself five years ago.
Either direction, structure in both, and something ongoing rather than an evening. I lead with more confidence than I used to and I am still learning how I want to be led.
Not looking for a checklist match. Not looking for somebody who wants a person exactly like their last one. And not looking for anybody who thinks having nothing in common is automatically the same as being incompatible, because I have now tested that.
