The app thinks I live at my office, and it has ruined my queue
- Looking for
- somebody near where I sleep rather than near where I earn
- Experience
- Two years, one dynamic that never got past the logistics.
- Around
- downtown, Los Angeles
I only ever open it at lunch, so the last place it recorded me is a building I leave at seven. My whole queue is therefore people who are convenient to a desk I do not live at. I have matched with a dozen people who are eleven minutes from my keyboard and an hour and a half from my bed, and I did not understand for months why every conversation ran aground at the point of arranging anything.
Twenty nine, downtown for work, submissive, two years in, and one attempt at a dynamic that never survived the scheduling.
Now I open it in the evening from home, on purpose, and the whole board is different. Fewer people, better ones, and the ones who are actually reachable on a weeknight. I mention it because I doubt I am the only person on here whose stack is quietly wrong.
What I want is small and consistent. A standing rule or two. Something I check in about at the same time each day. A dominant who is interested in the ordinary maintenance of a thing rather than the beginning of one.
Not looking for a weekend arrangement. Not looking for anybody whose availability is limited to the hours I am commuting. And not looking to be talked into a first meeting that is convenient to my office, because that is a fifteen minute coffee that decides nothing and I have done four of them.
