It is a rule I made for myself and it has saved me an enormous amount of trouble. After ten at night nothing is decided, nothing is promised and no limits are discussed, by me or by anyone talking to me. Late is when people are brave, and brave in a chat window at midnight is not the same person who has to actually turn up on Thursday. I have watched several arrangements begin at one in the morning and end within a fortnight of daylight.

So we talk late if you like, about anything, but the agreements happen at a civilised hour when both of us are boring. Everything real that I have built has been built by two people being slightly dull at each other on a weekday.
What I offer is a structured ongoing arrangement. Written expectations, a standing evening, tasks that matter, and correction that is verbal and prompt. I am not theatrical and I do not perform anything.
Not looking for anybody who wants intensity as a substitute for structure. Not looking for a person who is only ever awake and interested at midnight. And not looking for anyone who will agree to something at eleven and then need to renegotiate all of it at noon, which is not dishonesty but is a great deal of work.
