Everybody assumes my age tells them what I am, and it does not

Every message I receive assumes I am the one in charge. Not one has ever asked. Apparently a man of sixty who writes in full sentences must be the person giving instructions, so the conversation arrives with my part already cast, which would be flattering if it bore any relation to what I have been thinking about for two years.
Sixty one, Friedrichshain, curious, a widower, eleven months on here.
I was married for thirty years and none of this was ever discussed, which I do not say bitterly. It simply was not in the vocabulary we had between us. Since being on my own I have read a great deal and worked out that what interests me is the exact opposite of what everybody assumes, and it has proved surprisingly hard to say that in a profile without it reading as a confession.
So I am saying it here instead. What appeals to me is being answerable to somebody. Ordinary obligations, clearly set, and a person who notices whether they were done properly.
Not looking for anybody who wants a mentor or a father figure, which is the other thing my age attracts. Not looking to be admired for being open minded at my age. And not looking for a person who loses interest the moment they realise I meant it, which has happened three times and is why this post exists at all.
