I am not going to teach you the vocabulary before we have met
- Looking for
- somebody who has done the reading and wants the practice
- Experience
- Twelve years, three dynamics, none of them with a complete beginner.
- Around
- Neukölln, Berlin
About a third of my messages are requests for definitions. What does this mean, what is the difference between these two things, what would that involve. Each one is polite and each one is a small piece of unpaid work, and collectively they take up more of my week than the arrangement I actually have.
Forty two, Neukölln, dominant, twelve years in, three arrangements with the longest at six years.
I am not being unkind about beginners. I was one, and the people who were generous with me at the start are the reason I know anything. But there is a difference between somebody who has read for six months and has questions about how it works in practice, and somebody who wants a glossary delivered by a stranger, and I have become quite good at telling them apart.
What I run is a structured weekly arrangement with real expectations, tasks through the week and a written set of terms agreed before anything begins.
Not looking to define terms in a chat window. Not looking for somebody whose plan is to be educated for free by whoever answers. And not looking for a person who has read a great deal and wants to demonstrate it, which is the other end of exactly the same problem.
