There is no face on my profile and I know precisely what that costs. Fewer people are shown it, fewer of those write, and a good share of the ones who do open with an instruction to send one.
Thirty six, submissive, North York, and the reason is not mysterious. I work with the public in a job where being recognised in this context would end it. There is no version of my life in which my face sits in a queue that four hundred people thumb through every evening on a train.
What I will do, and have done many times, is send a photograph privately after a real conversation. I have never refused anybody who asked in a way that suggested they had read a word I wrote.
Eleven years in this, all of it discreet, most of it good. One arrangement that ran five years and ended amicably when she remarried and moved out to the west end. I am not new and I am not nervous.
