I removed every other app and kept this one on purpose
- Looking for
- one conversation at a time on the only app I still use
- Experience
- Thirteen years, three dynamics, one currently ending amicably.
- Around
- the west of the city, Berlin
I ran four of these things for two years. Four inboxes, four versions of myself, four sets of people I was vaguely maintaining, and the total result was a great deal of activity and one arrangement that lasted six months. In January I deleted three of them, and the remarkable thing is that nothing was lost. Nobody I actually cared about was on the ones I removed.
Forty three, the west of the city, switch, thirteen years in.
What I gained was attention. One place to look, a small number of conversations, and enough capacity to actually think about the person in front of me rather than sorting a queue. It is the single change that has most improved this for me and it cost nothing.
I am at the end of something at the moment, amicably and slowly, so I am writing rather than looking, and I will be honest about the timing with anybody who answers.
What I want next is an arrangement in either direction with structure, a weekly shape and obligations in between. Not looking to be added to a rotation. Not looking for anybody who is running four of these. And not looking to start anything in the next month.
