I want somebody to hold me to things, and I am not sure that belongs here
- Looking for
- rules with consequences that are not physical, and somebody who notices
- Experience
- None. Four months of reading and no conversations yet.
- Around
- downtown, Toronto
I am not certain this belongs here and I am posting anyway. What I want is for somebody to hold me to things. Deadlines, a bedtime, the gym, the phone call to my father I have been avoiding since March. Every time I describe it to a friend they recommend an application for it, and applications do not work, because an application cannot be disappointed in me.
Twenty nine, downtown, and no experience of any of this beyond four months of reading.
The part I cannot resolve is whether wanting accountability from a person is the same thing as everything else on this board or a different thing that happens to live next door to it. From what I have read the answer seems to be that it can be either, depending entirely on the two people involved, which is not the tidy answer I was after.
So I am looking for somebody experienced who is willing to begin there and see. Rules with consequences that are not physical. Regular contact. Someone who notices.
I accept that this may drift into other territory over time and I am not closed to that. I would rather begin where I actually am than agree to something in order to seem more interesting than I currently am.
Long hours in an office. Extremely reliable about anything committed to in writing and extremely unreliable about anything I have only promised myself.
Not looking for a life coach.
